As soon as electricity was available in houses, people began to think up new uses for it. Electricity makes all kinds of machines work. It can have great power; it drives the fastest trains in the world, for example. But electricity can also power very small gadgets, such as MP3 players and calculators. Most devices you use at home, such as televisions and vacuum cleaners, use current electricity. It can be stored in battery form, sent along wires and cables to where it is needed, and converted into many other forms of energy, including heat, light, and physical movement.

USE OF APPLIANCES

When we consider the demands of our work schedules, whether be it in our house or office or in the exterior work place, appliances lower the stress levels almost everywhere. An appliance is designed to cater a function in our personal life, and use the following five main functional categories: Lighting, Heating, Cooling, Mechanical Work, and Information & Knowledge Processing.

For example, a light bulb does lighting, an oven does heating, a refrigerator does cooling, a hand mixer does mechanical work, and a smart phone does information & knowledge processing.

Home Appliances or Domestic Appliances or Household Appliances are devices or equipment that assists in household functions such as cooking, cleaning, food preservation, lighting, and entertainment.

CATEGORIES OF ELECTRIC APPLIANCES

Some of the commonly named categories are: Household Appliances, Kitchen Appliances, Compact Appliances, Small Appliances, Floor-care Appliances, Personal-care Appliances, Consumer Appliances, Portable Appliances, Hand-held Appliances, Static Appliances, and Fixed Appliances. If you look at these category naming, one or more products in a category named can be found in another named categories interestingly in more named categories. For example, some of the House Hold appliances can be found in Kitchen Appliances, Floor-care Appliances, and Consumer Appliances. Hence, it can be concluded that there is no stringent categorization can be done in the world of Appliances.

TESTING AND COMMISSIONING

At the completion of the electrical installation works, the entire installation shall be subject to the test before final placing in service under the full responsibility of the contractor. Unless Otherwise specifically called for all tests shall be carried out in conformity with IEE regulations. Contractor shall coordinate with the Client and the Supervising Engineer to get electricity from the local supply authority before starting of testing and commissioning.
